Dirty and Rowdy Wines

I had the privilege of having a fantastic roast pig dinner with Hardy, one of the owners of Dirty and Rowdy wines the other night.  He brought some of his best wines and we sampled wines with delicious pig.

The prices are listed below, but you will need to contact Dirty and Rowdy directly to order these wines.

2017 Mendocino Chenin Blanc $34 per bottle
2017 Alder Springs Viognier $42 per bottle
2017 Unfamiliar Mourvèdre $23 per bottle

I highly recommend these wines and have shows some of my favorites below.  Some of these wines are very affordable, but you will be happy with any of them.

The best wine for the price is the Unfamiliar.  The folks at Dirty and Rowdy are organic wine makers and take pride in this.  The 2017 Unfamiliar is a great deal because it is a wine that was produced during the California wildfires.  Being honest winemakers, the folks at Dirty and Rowdy determined that they needed to filter the wine because of the difficulties of producing wine during the wildfires.  However, they also decided they couldn't call this wine organic because it was filtered.  Therefore you can get this wine for a great deal, solely because it was filtered.

It is a blend of 100% of the following vineyards: Shake Ridge Ranch, Rodnick Farm (formerly Antle), both Skinner vineyards, Rosewood, Wonderment Rd., Alder Springs, and Brosseau.

2017 Alder Springs Vineyard ViognierThe 2017 Viognier is a great little wine with scents of pink rose and orange peel.  This is a medium+ bodied wine perfect for pork loin, empanadas, and enjoying a fine wine outdoors.

I also tasted the wines shown below.  They were great, however, I am not sure they are still available.  After tasting these wines I was able to see how well these wines age.  Therefore, if you can't find one of these, I suggest you get the current offerings and put them in a cool dark place to age.  You won't be disappointed.
